Does the Stardew Valley item code cheat still work? ›

This cheat was patched out on the console versions of Stardew Valley, but it still works on PC. Players can change the character's name as item codes for expensive items – like diamonds. To make the most out of this glitch, the best way is to talk to Gus in the Saloon.

To spawn this item using an animal's name, visit Marnie's Ranch, speak to Marnie and purchase an animal (we recommend a chicken as it is cheapest). Name the animal [645] and press OK. You will then receive the iridium sprinkler item.

Name the animal [434] and press OK. You will then receive the stardrop item.

The clue that Secret Note 20 is trying to give you here is related not to the JojaMart or surrounding environment, but rather who is located in the area. For example, if you wanted to spawn an Iridium Sprinkler (ID 645), a Rabbit's Foot (ID 446) and the Legend Fish (ID 163), you would name your character "[645][446][163]". After speaking to a villager such as Gus, you will receive the item(s) you added the IDs of to your name.

Stardew Valley allows you to name your character anything you want, which you can exploit for this cheat (that works on all systems, including Switch!).

Simply name yourself the item ID of any item. in the game, and every time your name is said within dialogue, that item will spawn in your inventory. You can even do this with animals.
