And just like that, iftar and suhoor in London are finally back! After two years of lockdowns and restrictions, it did not make sense for halal restaurants in London to run their iftar and suhoor specials but they’re back and the options are even better this time round. From halal pepperoni and honey pizzas to rib eye roasts to dry-aged steaks, you’re going to need to save this list for when you’re looking for a great iftar and suhoor in London.

Open Iftar, Various Locations

The Open Iftar is the UK’s largest award-winning community and cultural event in Ramadan and sadly had to stop any in-person events for the last couple of years. However they are back and are running their fantastic events around the UK for all muslims and non-muslims to enjoy! You’ll be able to listen to different speakers from all over the country, break your fast with delicious food and much more. The event is free to attend but you must register beforehand.

Pizza Pilgrims, Oxford Circus

Decided to head to Oxford Street for a bout of Eid shopping and want somewhere check out the newly launched Pizza Pilgrims Ramadan at Selfridges. You’ll be breaking your fast with some deep-fried gnocchi (fried items are an essential for iftar!) with red pepper tapenade, followed by a choice of two pizzas: the halal double pepperoni and spicy honey pizza or the wild mushroom and burrata pizza. And if that wasn’t enough, dessert will be a strawberry, pistachio and rose water sundae, made for sharing! Two soft drinks are included and the menu will be available until 11:30pm.

Ritu Seasons of India, St. John’s Wood

Grab the family and head over to Ritu Seasons of India who are running a special iftar menu for their hungry diners. For £12, you’ll be able to break your fast with dates, a fruit platter, rose and nut sherbet and laban. This will be followed by an array of appetisers which include all of our Ramadan favouries: three onion bajis, corn and jalapeno samosas, chicken shammi kebabs and lamb sheekh kebabs, plus dips and a papad tray. If you’re still hungry after this, you can order a few mains from the a la carte.

The Orangery, Stockley Park

Sapna Caterers have just launched their new restaurant in time for Ramadan: The Orangery at Stockley Park. They will be running a special set iftar menu for the month where you can open your fast with dates, their famous papri chaat and pakoray, before being served a selection of starters and mains like the fried masala fish, saffron pilau and lamb bhuna. Desserts and drinks are also included in the package. The venue is incredibly pretty so this is a nice one if you want to treat your other half to somewhere nice or if there is a birthday coming up!

Available for £27 per person from Tuesday-Thursday and £29 per person from Friday-Sunday. Children under 3 eat for free and those under 10 are half price. Available for the duration of Ramadan.

Guanabana, Kentish Town

A Sunday roast may be off the lunch menu for the next month but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it for iftar! Guanabana will be running their special island roast daily throughout the month of Ramadan and you can opt for either the jerk chicken or rib eye served with jerk sauce, yorkshire puddings, roasties, glazed honey carrots, steam cabbage and fried plantains.For every roast, £1 will be donated to Rumi’s Kitchen which uses food wastage to tackle food insecurity.

Naan Staap, Various Locations

Perhaps you need something quick but comforting for iftar, which is why we love the iftar box that Naanstaap are selling. Each box comes with a bottle of mango lassi or lemonade, chicken or onion pakoras, dates, a stuffed naan or paratha and some dipping sauce – all for under £10! They have limited availability each day so best be quick!They are also open until midnight so you will be able to have one of their famous keema naans and karak chai for suhoor.

Urumaki by Chef Nahid Ramadan Menu, Poplar

Based in East and want something a little va-va-voom for iftar? Chef Nahid has released his Ramadan menu and with the likes of Nashville fried chicken bao buns and cheeto sushi rolls, we may just be driving up to Poplar ourselves for a taster. The menu is subject to availability and the dishes cost between £10-£15 each. You may also order from the regular sushi menu too.

The Great Chase, Angel

If you really feel like spoiling yourself this Ramadan then be sure to check out The Great Chase iftar menu, only available for 24 diners per day so you better be quick to snag a booking! This 3-course menu costs £39 per person and you’ll be able to choose from a selection of starters, mains and desserts to the likes of crispy lamb tacos, caramelised lamb rack, dry-aged steaks, wild mushroom risotto and much, much more. You’ll need to pre-order your dishes when making a booking so better study the menu!

Spice Village, Tooting and Southall

Spice Village will be offering a buffet service for £19.99 or £22.99 per person at their Southall branch where you’ll find humongous pakoras being freshly fried as well as shammi kebabs and lots more Pakistani goodies. Over at their newly refurbished Tooting restaurant, they will be running a 3-course set menu at Iftar time. If that wasn’t enough, you can opt for one of their iftar hampers for 4, 10 or 20 guests at home and features drinks, chicken biryani, butter chicken, naans and lots, lots more.

The buffet is available for £19.99 per person Monday-Friday and £22.99 per person Saturday-Sunday at their Southall restaurant. The set menu is available at £29.99 per person at their Tooting branch. Booking is advised.

Beit El Zeytoun, Acton

Beit El Zeytoun maybe instagrammable but the food is actually good here and a great place to break fast with friends. The iftar set menus are priced at £32 and £36 per person and they will be offering two booking slots: 8-10:45pm for iftar and 11pm-1:45am for suhoor. You can also opt for their Ramadan at home package if you’re planning on having guests over!
